State Department says ‘no new communications’ between US, North Korea over soldier Travis King

The U.S. State Division is now saying there have been “no new communications” with North Korea relating to captured American soldier Travis King, who officers say ran over the border final week throughout a guided tour of the DMZ. 

State Division spokesperson Matthew Miller made the comment after the U.N. Command peacekeeping power, in response to The Related Press, stated Monday that it has began “a dialog” with North Korea about King. 

“I noticed the experiences about contact between the U.N. Command and North Korea. It’s my understanding that there have been no new communications since final week — communications that occurred within the early days,” Miller stated Monday throughout a State Division briefing.  

“I feel the experiences might have resulted from a misinterpretation of the U.N. Miller continued by saying “on the U.N. aspect, the — my understanding is that the North Koreans acknowledged they obtained the message. I’ll allow you to determine whether or not that constitutes an precise response or not.
